OMEGA Speedmaster
No watch can be considered more iconic than the Omega Speedmaster. Worn by astronaut Buzz Aldrin as he took his first steps on the moon in 1969, the Speedmaster has been a part of every manned US space flight since. This is a timepiece that has a unique place in the history of space exploration and the world over. Becoming an integral part of NASA's equipment is no easy feat. Before its ascent into space, the Speedmaster underwent extreme conditions designed to test it to destruction. From shifts in temperature (from 93ºC to -18ºC), violent shocks, high and low pressure, humidity, noise and vibrations - the Speedmaster survived it all.
The Speedmaster also became the timepiece of choice on racetracks. Its fixed bezel, showing a tachymeter scale, allowed for tracking speed when on a fixed track - making it much easier to read for drivers on the move. Today, this timepiece maintains the same superior precision, readability and robustness and is powered by the same hand-wound movement of 1969.
