Breitling Superocean
Think of Breitling and aviation is likely the first thing that springs to mind. While this is where the brand's roots (and wing logo design) lies, in 1957 Breitling pivoted to a new market with the launch of the Breitling Superocean. This is a timepiece that defines the classic dive watch, in its practical design and in its capability. At the time of its launch the Superocean's water resistance blew competitors out of the water, with a depth of 200 meters. The original Superocean was also the first known reverse panda dial chronograph. Its uniqueness making it an attractive timepiece to snap up.
In the 1960s, a new model surfaced with a distinctive strength: an indicator at six o'clock to show whether the chronograph was operating or not. A crucial feature for divers in deep water. Today, the Superocean's design remains bold but clean and, with an increased water resistance of up to 2000 metres, it has retained a strong following among professional and leisure divers alike.
