This solar GPS watch celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Seiko name on a watch; the rose-gold coloured accents in the design are designed to resemble the view of Earth at night as seen from a satellite. Under a dual-curved sapphire crystal glass, within a compact and slim bezel design, is a radiating patterned black dial. The bezel is crafted from titanium and rose-gold colour plated ceramic. The increased charging capacity of this calibre allows for a textured dial whilst still maintaining high charging efficiency. The titanium case construction has a super hard coating for increased scratch resistance. The case is a compact and angular design that flows seamlessly from the bezel, through the lugs and to its titanium and ceramic bracelet. With sleek lines, this watch has a slim profile. Powered by the in-house built 5X83 solar GPS calibre, which inherits the same functions of the 5X53, but it has the added capability to measure elapsed time through its chronograph feature. The chronograph can measure elapsed time up to 1/20th of a second. It is accurate to ± 15 seconds per month whilst having a power reserve of 6 months at full charge and can be charged by any light source – either natural sunlight or artificial light – for convenience. Seiko Astron: the world’s first GPS solar watch – powered by light, automatically adjusted to your exact time through the latest satellite technology. *In an actual product, the case back direction might be different from the photograph.
