In midwinter the rocky ridges of Mount Iwate are covered in a blanket of snow, reflecting the blue sky above. Under a box sapphire glass, the three-dimensional dial of this Grand Seiko timepiece features the brand’s recognisable Mount Iwate pattern, depicting the mountaintop view with outstretched snow-covered ridges radiating from its peak. Crafted from high-intensity titanium, this timepiece is 30% lighter than stainless steel, and when paired with a ceramic bezel, provides enhanced scratch resistance. Powered by an in-house built 9SC5 Hi-Beat chronograph calibre – the ten-beat chronograph with the world’s longest power reserve when first introduced in March 2023, named for its “TEN beats per second,” “Three days of power reserve,” “Automatic,” and a “chronoGRAPH,” the 9SC5 is accurate to +5/-3 seconds per day. Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.
