As the final days of spring come to an end and summer revitalises Japan, the seventh sekki of ‘Rikka’ turns the land a lush green. The dial of this Grand Seiko is inspired by the rippled green leaves in the summer winds of ‘Rikka.’ A refreshing new take on the SBGH271, this new version has been reimagined with a brighter green dial and sharp hands and indices in a silver colour. The design builds on the heritage of the 62GS – the first Grand Seiko with automatic winding – launched in 1967 and popular ever since, with its distinct aesthetic and recognisable case shape. Created in Ever-Brilliant Steel, this model has a mirrored and multi-sided case with a wide dial opening, achieved with a bezel-free construction and unique Grand Seiko Zaratsu polishing. Through its glass exhibition case back, the in-house 9S85 Hi-Beat movement is clearly visible, beating ten times per second to achieve an accuracy of +5/-3 seconds per day with a 55-hour power reserve. Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.
